NEPAL EARTHQUAKE: BNKS IN PICTURES

With help from my friend Dikendra Karki, here are ten pictures that speak of the damages from the aftermath of the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that rocked Nepal in April 25 at 1156 hrs local time caused to my Alma mater Budhanilkantha School, Narayansthan, Kathmandu.

    1. Well the thing is, the Black Gate that was built on the aftermath of the wall collapse two years ago was once again turned to rubble. And naturally, the locals came from that way and have been taking shelter in Bottom Pitch. As for the A-level examinees, they are safe. The school was due to open that day but has been closed for at least a week.
      Yeah, I am in Pokhara right now where there have been fewer(9 or less) earthquakes that have been experienced. Evrerything’s fine here.

  1. Good to see most infrastructures remain intact. When someone put up a post saying all roofs of houses and walls have collapsed I had a such a bitter feeling.

    1. I too had the same initial reaction but there were not enough proofs to justify those claims. Hence, I requested Dikendra to forward some photos that he had taken. It was good to see that none of the buildings collapsed in any areas. Only the tiles were accumulated in one place and that was a sight of relief.
